I am so thankful that me and my family have a wonderful home!!! We have lived here for a little over a year and we have had many great memories! Our home is 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bathroom a full basement, and a in-ground pool and everything else that normally comes in a house LOL!! Over the past nine months we have been doing a lot remolding! the first thing that my wonderful husband did while me and the children on vacation was to redo our dining room, hallway, utility room and the master bed! This past summer was so much fun! We had pool parties, family get together and many other fun activities with family and friends!!! Cant wait to see what next summer brings!!!!!!!!

What I Am Thankful For Day 4! My Husband Job!

What I Am Thankful For Day 3! My Sweet Daughter!

I am thankful for my sweet little girl Kayleigh. When I was pregnant with her I never thought I would never have a girl, since Brent's mom have 6 boys and his grandma has 3 boys. So when they told us we were having a girl, I really didn't believe them. LOL :) So when she was born she weighed 9lbs 15 ounces. She was a big girl! It is amazing to see where she is 2 and half years later. She talks all of the time and is very creative and has a personality all of her own. And she is the most independent little girl that I know. I love her so much!! Love both of my children more and more every day!!!!

Working Out!!!

You always hear people say how much they enjoy working out, but seriously are they crazy. I go to the gym 3 times a week, but lately I feel totally unmotivated to workout as hard I was in the beginning. I know that working out will make me feel better and make me look better to my self, and to fit into clothes better. But still I hate sweating, I hate not seeing the results right then. What can I do to make my self want to workout more. Hopefully soon, I will see the results that I am wanting. I guess what I need to learn is how to be patient and not expect everything to happen all of the sudden. I am noticing little changes but they are not coming as fast as I want them too. Only 35 lbs to lose and then maybe some more!!!!

Rocket Birthday Party!

So my little boy turned 5 on Sunday, it seems like yesterday that he was born. WOW how time flies. I never realized how fast time has been flying by since he has been born. So on Saturday September 25th we threw him a Rocket themed birthday party!! We invited Brent's Aunt Betty, Grandma Judy, Grandpa Alvin, Brent's Mom Deb, Kelly, Charity, Michael, Matt, Cori, Evan, Karin, Joel, Brayden, my Dad Terry, Tyler, Alyssa and Sarah Nolan all came to the party. We decorated the house with banners, and streamers and balloons. He thought we did an excellent job, but the only thing he was concerned about was when he could open his presents, eat his cake and play with Tyler, Kayleigh and Alyssa. Typical kid. He got so much for his birthday. He got color explosion, magnets, Toy Story Shirt, Remote Control Car, Movie, 1 book and 1 kindergarten workbook, 20 dollars, A huge jumping hot wheels car, and his favorite gift was a Remote Control Helicopter (from Uncle Matt and Aunt Cori and Baby Evan). But I really think the gift was for the older boys to play with. It was a great party, we ate subs, chips, cupcakes, cookies, punch (Grandma's Judy's Recipe).

It is wonderful to watch your children grow and have fun, and just be children. I hope that when my son grows up he realizes that we love him so much and gave him everything that we possible could and all we want for him is to do the best he can!!!! I love you so much Cody!!

Birthday Party!

Newer thought planning a 5 years old birthday party would be so much work. First you have to invite everybody and then you wait to see who is going to be coming. Then come up with food idea's, game idea's, and any other thing else that you may need. So now for the last two days I have been cleaning the house, scrubbing walls, painting and just finishing up the last things too the house that need to be done! I feel like I am never going to get done! The next three days I have to steam clean the carpets, mop all the floors, wash all the windows, get new blinds, and make the cake and cupcakes for everybody that is coming!! Then decorating the house and making ALL of the food. I hope Cody likes his party!!! The party theme is Rocket Ships!!!! So much to do and so little time, oh well I will get everything done, I have to I am the mom!!!

Our Little Princess!!!!

In June of 2007, I found out I was pregnant with our second child. I had an ultrasound in August and we found out we were having a little girl. When they told me that  we were having a girl I told them that they needed to double check to make sure that it was a girl. The reason I wanted them to double check was because Brent's Mother has 6 boys, his grandmother has 3 boys, and all the brothers have boys as well. So needless to say I didn't believe them when they told us that we were having a girl. My pregnancy with our daughter was super easy, the only thing was that I gained about 70 pounds I know that is a lot. I could eat what ever I wanted and I was never sick, I was super tired but that is it. I had a stress-test when I was 37 weeks along, because she was not moving as much as she was suppose to be. I was also measuring about 4 weeks ahead of schedule. I knew that I was not going to have a natural birth, and that I was going to have a c-section. I scheduled the c-section for Tuesday January 15, 2008 at Zeeland Hospital. I was 39 weeks along. The reason that I decided on the January 15 was because my mothers birthday is the 14 and my cousins is on the 16th. We went into the hospital at 9:30 am on January 15 and we had to fill out paper work, get blood work and hooked up to monitors and wait for the doctors to come to the hospital. Finally at noon, the nurses took me back to the surgical room to get my spinal block put in and get me strapped on the table. The about 1210 pm Brent was brought into the room and the doctors came in and started in on the c-section. Finally at 12:30 pm the doctor said OH MY GOD!!! (That is not what you want to hear from your doctor) The reason that he said that was because she was so big! We decided to name her Kayleigh Nicole TenHarmsel she was born on January 15, 2008 at 12:30pm she weighed 9 lbs 15ounces and was 21 inches long. She was an extremely big baby. We stayed in the hospital until Thursday the 17, so I got to go home a day early. The night that we came home, we ended up dropping the kids off and going to go and get our taxes down (LOL crazy I know). The first night home was super easy she woke up twice to eat and then went right back to bed, except I kept waking her up just to make sure she was okay. She completely started sleeping thru the night at 1 week old, so that was really nice/kind of weird. Now my little girl is 2 and half years old. She weighs 28lbs 6ounces and 36.75 inches long. I can not believe that she has only gained about 19 lbs in 2 and half years. I am a very lucky mom, I have two wonderful children, who are best friends!!!! I love both my children so much!!!

Sweet Little Boy!

My sweet little boy is named Cody. Well he is not so little anymore. LOL =) We found out we were having Cody on February 15, 2005, Brent and I had only been together for about 6 months. My pregnancy with Cody was super hard, I was sick all of the time, had bleeding and lots of cramps and I kept getting sick (colds, ear infections (may I add that was the one and only ear infection in my whole life), but the good thing was I only gained 26 pounds. The weekend before Cody was born, Brent was in Chicago for work (and I kept thinking to myself, I know I am going to go into labor. Thank God I didn't. The night that Brent got home it was about 7:00pm, so we decided that we were going to go to Meijer's. But when I got to Meijer's I had to go to the bathroom and discovered that my water was leaking (I seriously thought I peed on myself) and I wasn't feeling so good. But I decided that I wanted to shop anyways and look at baby stuff and decide what I was going to need for the hospital. However, I couldn't stay in the store anymore, so I made Brent take me home and he went out and I went to bed. At 3:30am on Monday September 26, 2005 I got up went to the bathroom and went pee and my water broke. Of course I yelled for Brent and told him that I needed the phone, he got up and got me the phone and then went back to bed (of course I was pissed at the time, but now I think it is hilarious), I called my mom and she told me that my water did break, and that I needed to call the doctor and get to the hospital. So of course I didn't do that, instead I went and took a shower and packed the baby bag and get ready (LOL). I didn't have anything ready for the hospital because Cody wasn't suppose to be born until the end of October. So can you say I wasn't ready. Brent did call my doctor and said that I was 34 weeks instead of 36 weeks, but the doctor knew what we were talking about. When we finally decided to go to the hospital Brent had no clue where the hospital was or how to get there so I had to give him directions the whole way there. We finally got to the hospital at 7:00am, and they hooked us up to machines and so on. Then Brent decided he was going to go to work to finish the insurance paper work, LOL =). After he left the nurse came in to see if I was dilated past 1 like I was when I got there and I was, I was dilated to 3, which was great because it had only been an hour since we got there. The doctor wanted to do an ultrasound to make sure his lungs where developed, but when they did the ultrasound they figured out he was breach (which is butt down, not head down) so they decided that they were going to have to do an Emergency C-Section. Brent was still gone when they told me that, called him like 500 times in 20 minutes trying to explain to him how to get back to the hospital and so on. He finally got back to the hospital 10 minutes before they were going to take me into surgery! Finally when were got to the room, they strap your arms down so you can't move and try to stop the doctors. I was numb from the chest down which was nice since I didn't feel any pain what so ever, but I did feel the pressure and the pulling and tugging and the doctors jumping on my chest. That was not to cool. I looked over and told Brent I didn't care what he named him because I was going to die, since we didn't have a name picked out. Brent picked his name Cody Allen after his middle name. Cody was 6lbs 4ounces and 21 inches long. Once he was born he didn't cry because his lungs weren't developed and he had to be put in a incubator in the NeoNatal Intensive Care Unit at Holland Hospital. Nobody could hold or feed him or anything for 3 days. Finally on Wednesday I got to hold him for the first I thought he was the cutest baby in the world (all parents think that) and feed him a bottle, he ate 2 ounces. The next morning when we came back he had a feeding tube in his nose, because he wasn't eating again. We finally got a new doctor and he took the feeding tube out and started feeding him a bottle, two days later we finally got to take our little man home. The day we brought him home he weighed 5lbs 7 ounces, it was 78 degrees outside and absolutely beautiful. And now 5 years later he is 38 pounds, started Kindergarten on September 7, 2010 where he is going all day everyday! He absolutely loves school, and can't wait to go everyday, (I love that he loves school and loves going and loves learning). I can not wait to see what the rest of his life has in store for him, I know, no matter what he wants to do with his life he will accomplish me. Mommy loves you Cody!!

Our Family!!!

For those of you that don't know us here I go. My name is Allison, I am married to Brent and we have two children, Cody who is going to be 5 in 11 days and Kayleigh who is 2, we also have a Black Lab named Boomer and a cat named Tigger. Me and Brent have been together for about 10 years now. We meet while I was a senior in High School, crazy I know. We got married July 24, 2009. But we had been engaged since November 2004. I know we did things backwards but it works for us. I am a stay-at-home mom and Brent is a body shop manager. Before being a  stay-at-home mom I did work. But after I had our daughter and taking 20 weeks off, then we decided that it was better to stay-home and raise the kids. Cody just started school this year, he is in Kindergarten and goes all day! Which gives me sometime to spend with Kayleigh, and it is kind of cool. Since it has never been just me and her. I graduated college in April 2010 with my Associates Degree in Administrative Technology with Emphasis in Medical. I was going to take class this fall but they were all full, so now I am on the wait-list for 2 classes in the winter. We will see if I get into them, especially since they only take 10 students per class per semester. So that sucks! But oh well life goes on! Well I guess my first blog ever is done! YAY!
